Now that the Harman/Muller letters have been declassified, it is evident that there was no basis for classifying them in the first place. And yet they were classified, as a matter of course. And the classification continued, even after the CIA program was announced by the President. Representative Harman didn’t do anything about that, either . . . because the Intelligence oversight committees are entirely beholden to the agencies they are supposed to be overseeing.
