I'm glad to see this book getting some attention. It is indeed a very interesting work.

As a person who frequents many libertarian websites, I would say that the general opinion is that Boldrin and Levine are not generally considered to be libertarian, though some libertarians are quite interested in this book (including myself).

I won't disagree, since I'm sure you have a basis for your opinion, but could you give an example of libertarians wanting to re-regulate social behavior? In my experience, it seems like libertarians are generally thought of by people with limited exposure to libertarian ideas as people who want to remove government restrictions on sex drugs, and gambling, which seems to me to be massive de-regulation of social behavior. "Socially liberal and fiscally conservative" is how some libertarians describe themselves.

As to consideration of other people, you may disagree, but I think that the greatest consideration that we can give to other people is to not forcibly intrude into other people's lives with the belief that we can make better decisions for them than they can for themselves, or, more broadly, to avoid harming them or their property. At the very least, I believe that this basic respect for others, which many politicians and their supporters seem to lack, should come before additional consideration, such as charity, which I certainly support.
