President Bush signed a direc­tive this month that expands the intel­li­gence community’s role in mon­i­tor­ing Internet traf­fic to pro­tect against a ris­ing num­ber of attacks on fed­eral agen­cies’ com­puter systems.

Somehow, I am not reas­sured by this news.
